Four Poems
Dan Hoy
MY DREAMS ARE THE GREATEST
I would sacrifice everything
worthless in my life and call it a day. People
are what happen to good ideas.
NIKOLE IS RAD
I like faces that take
my thoughts and make them better.
I’m like the last person on Earth who believes
a hot outfit is the hottest kind of outfit.
Real heroes ruin my life.
FOR KICKS
I throw down miracles
because I’m a coward. The sky
is exactly how I feel all the time.
I like fire and blood and being
fucked with or called forth.
I might as well jerk my own face.
CAKE HOLES IN WAITING
I like perfection done right. I believe
everything and grieve
like there’s no tomorrow.
Nobody takes it personal.
All the bad hair in the world can burn forever.
Dan Hoy lives in Brooklyn as is coeditor of SOFT TARGETS. These poems are from a collection called Glory Hole, split released with Jon Loen's The Hot Tub [Mal-O-Mar Editions.]
